About the Centre

Centre for Criminology and Victimology

The National Law University Delhi has set up a centre – Centre for Criminology and Victimology (“CCV”) for advanced research training, policy analysis and consultancy in the broader fields of criminology and victimology. CCV aims to contribute towards the fundamental and applied research and action in the field of Criminology. and Victimology. Towards this end, the Centre promotes research, training, policy analysis and consultancy in the aforesaid fields. The Centre brings along pertinent interdisciplinary research and learning strategies to identify the lacunae in our criminal justice and victim justice systems while systematically addressing the same. The Centre also provides ready consultancy to various law enforcement and governmental agencies by offering research-based solutions to legal conundrums. Additionally, the Centre conducts training, research workshops and conferences especially in the areas of Criminal Justice, Victim Justice, and Victimology.

Aims & Objectives

The centre will have the following key objectives:

  • Promoting research and action in these selected areas of criminal justice and victimology.
  • To undertake specific research projects in the said areas.
  • To propose training programmes to the various wings of criminal justice system including the stakeholders in the field of Juvenile justice.
  • To analyse and critically examine the laws, policy and programmes from the stand point of victim protection, rehabilitation, participation and justice.
  • To strive for providing a Victimlogical thrust in the legal education at graduate and under graduate level
  • To organize students centric initiatives in the form of victim advocacy, legal clinic and outreach programme for extending victims support services
  • To undertake publications and coordinate with various National and International agencies working in the broader areas of victimology and criminology.
